Today has not been a very good day for me. Woke up today to more rain, and nothing dampens my mood faster than the sight of rain. I decided to wear my 1 hour experiment top because it was too cold to wear a dress. I've just realised that I only have summer related outfits, which won't keep me warm when its cold. So that's something to address sometime in the future.
Does anyone know of a really good skirt pattern I could use for work outfits?
Have a good evening!!
Your top looks lovely. What about the Colette Pattern Beignet or Ginger skirt to make for work? They're both gorgeous. x
ReplyDeleteThe colette keeps staring at me..lol...i'm too scared to try it. I should i think. but not now, as I want easy things that i can make for june. I'm fast running out of outfits.
ReplyDeleteIf you want a super easy skirt then New Look 6843 is a doddle. It was the first thing I ever made. Looking at the other things you've made, I'm sure you could sew it up with your eyes closed (not literally) x
ReplyDeleteI vote for ginger too. I like the variation waistbands. Afew peeps have rated the burda style Jenny skirt if you are looking for a pencil skirt rather than a-line.
ReplyDeleteI was going to say Ginger! I have made two now and love it for work.
ReplyDeleteI think your top looks amazing. No need to be blue with the rain when you have such a fun, bright top on!
Your 1 hour experiment top looks great on you.
ReplyDeleteOoo... I can definitely reccomend BurdaStyle's Jenny Skirt. I have three of them for work!

Lovely top. I would say a pencil skirt is very easy to do and looks very smart.
ReplyDeleteI would say, go with a pencil skirt. They are quick and easy and there are heaps of patterns out there for them.
ReplyDeleteLove your top, its got very nice shaping.
My go-to pattern is New Look 6345; the last 2 skirts I made with this, I didn't include the top band at all (I just added some length at the bottom hem), which made them super-fast to sew...and maybe good for a Me Made month. It does involve a zip either way, though! FYI I've lined most of my skirts with muslin (except the denim one), but it's not really necessary. Good luck! And thanks for writing such a fun blog.
ReplyDeleteThanks you for your nice com on my post !
ReplyDeleteI love your one-hour top! For a skirt, you can make an elasticed one : http://www.freshlypickedblog.com/2010/02/elastic-waist-skirt-tutorial-mama.html or a pleated one : http://subversivelesbiananarchicknitter.blogspot.com/2011/04/skirts-to-flatter-every-figure-box.html, you can see the result here : http://subversivelesbiananarchicknitter.blogspot.com/2011/05/enid-skirt.html
In Paris too, it's a raining day, it's depressing !
